Holidays in Velden am Wörthersee
This is the place where my family has been on vacation for the last ... um... 60 years. Yes, I'm not exaggerating - my father is the proud owner of the golden medal "50 Jahre Kurgast in Velden) even though he is not much older than that himself.
And also I was awarded several of those medals now and then (bronze when I was 10, 5 years later silver and so on...because: Since I was a baby my family has been there on vacation every summer. The first two weeks of July to be precise.
And, because apparently Velden attracts persistent tourists like us (aka "Stammgäste") - there were always the same people who we met there. A weird mix of cute "natives" speaking Carinthian dialect, elderly German tourist - couples, now and then some Italians who were crossing the (very close) border for a day trip...
2 years ago my infidel family finally decided to stop spending the holidays there because they suddenly realized that there is more of the world they haven't seen yet. (how could they just assume anything could be better than Velden?!?)
Of course all those people were struck with incomprehension - but: when some of us - like now my brother and me - come as occasional visitors, there is still always a warm welcome and - modestly said - quite understandable, because: We are the entertainers in this retiree - place!

I like the picture of you in the sun! Your hair looks beautiful.
What a great web log. I spend hours on the net reading blogs, about tons of various subjects. I have to first of all give praise to whoever created your theme and second of all to you for writing what i can only describe as an fabulous article. I honestly believe there is a skill to writing articles that only very few posses and honestly you got it. The combining of demonstrative and upper-class content is by all odds super rare with the astronomic amount of blogs on the cyberspace.
